I went to Goldstream Provincial Park with Kevin last Saturday (Oct,9)
On Saturday, i caught the earliest Number 26 Bus to uptown and met him there. We took the Number 50 Bus to the Langford Exchange.
When we arrived at the Langford Exchange, we found that we had to wait for the Number 58 Bus for more than 40 minutes! So we decided to walk to goldstream.
We were fortunate because Kevin had a GPS on his Smartphone. So we always knew exactly where we were. We followed the way of the Number 58 Bus by walking. We passed Langford Lake. We had a good view there. We went into a garden as well, there were small bridges and flowers below the bridges. We knew that it was better to walk instead of waiting for the bus. At least, we had already visited two places!
Soon, we reached Goldstream Park. We took a few pictures in front of the sign. After that, we walked amidst the forest. We saw a parking place. There was a BBQ place near it. But we didn’t have a car! We weren’t able to BBQ any food. So we took out two bottles of coke from Kevin’s backpack and drank together.
We went on an awesome trail. The trail was all the way through the forest. We found a map at each crossing. We followed the direction and eventually reached the stream. There wasn’t any salmon there! It was a pity. We found there was no more way for us as soon as we were able to touch the clean water. We went backwards.
Everything was tranquil until we heard a strange sound. We were worried about bears. But Kevin finally found that it was a bird. But i couldn’t see it! I missed an opportunity to have a look at the only creature bigger than a insect through the whole journey. Fortunately, it’s not a creature as big as bear.
There was a busy highway next to the park. We crossed it by passing an archway below the bridge around 1 o’clock. We saw a small waterfall and the river was still dry.
We followed the map. But we reached the railway by mistake. We knew that we were lost. We hadn’t got an opportunity to go back to the trail. We just followed Kevin’s GPS. We knew that we could reach a small town by walking through the railway although it was much longer than the trail, but it was safe.
Nothing happened, we walked along the railway.
Suddenly, we saw a small trail maybe someone had walked, we walked down the trail. But the trail became invisible. We thought we could go forward and do some rock climbing. It was so hard! We needed to find stones or branches which ware tough enough. We needed to step on small plants to make sure their spines won’t hurt us.
I said “What are we doing!?”
Kevin answered “Call of Duty8: Modern Warfare 3”
When i was on the railway again, I thought how peaceful it was. But I saw a small white spider which as big as the nail of tomb. And I brushed it off. It’s lucky that neither of us were hurt. We were still two strong young men. We could go on our journey.
We found a road. That was much better than railway! And it was showed on GPS. We knew that we would probably climb a fence, but we decided to try it. The road was really good for walking. But the fence wasn’t. It was even higher than us, and there were barbed wire on it, Kevin did first, he climbed it successfully. Then i threw my bag and his bag over the fence.
“Now, it’s my turn.”I said.
I was really nervous because I couldn’t imagine how could we continue our journey if I hurt myself. And I could hold it with my hand because there were all spines. So i was only able to step on the wire and couldn’t make my feet closer to the ground. So I just jumped. My pants got a little torn and my shirt was a little rip. But at least, we reached the town. We could ask some human beings for help! Thanks god!
A small bus stop for Number 58 Bus was our new destination. There were some teenagers there! They said it was going to the Exchange and the bus would come very soon.
Finally, Number 58 Bus to the Langford Exchange
Number 50 Bus to uptown
Number 30 Bus to Kevin’s home
AND Number 26 BUS TO MY HOME!!!!!
